Inspired By a Movie About Basketball?!?

I think perhaps the first time I heard this song was when I watched the movie "White Men Can't Jump" starring Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes.

For those who have never seen this movie, it's a basketball movie about two street ballers who hustle their opponents out of big money on a daily basis. They each meet their match when they collide on the same court, which eventually leads to them teaming up for an even bigger score.

But long beforehand, at the very start of the movie, there's a wonderful barbershop quartet singing what many refer to as "Just A Closer Walk With Thee." The name of the group was the "Venice Beach Boys."

I just remember LOVING that song... so much that it stuck with me all these years. Until last year in Vegas when I was blessed to be able to produce my own version between teaching music classes.

I recorded this track in the school's music room and released only the digital audio last year.

Then an amazing opportunity arose to shoot this music video on Capistrano beach!

The video you are about to see is the result of one single day of shooting which was built into our family vacation only a few short weeks ago. Enjoy!
